# Mission Terminal

Buildable Terminal — Core Concept

**Purpose:** A modular hub structure players can construct in the field or within faction bases. It acts as both a **command console** and a **network anchor** to the Drift Network.

1\) Construction Cost: Scrap metal, low-grade energy cells, basic AI core fragment. \
2\) Provides minimal crafting (ammo, survival kits). &#x20;

3\) Limited Drift Network access - Player Hosted Only\
4\) Players are able to join "Open Terminals" Players can join other players worlds.&#x20;

5\) Instead of being able to travel to one particular world players are randomised to nearest servers.\
Players will be able to join each other using the steam interface Directly.&#x20;

6\) Worlds have randomly generated loot [fauna](/titan-force-docs/home/game-design-doc-g.d.d/start/specs/technical/survival-systems/fauna.md) & [Flora](/titan-force-docs/home/game-design-doc-g.d.d/start/specs/technical/survival-systems/flora.md) are randomised each world will have its own limitations. see [Play Area](/titan-force-docs/home/game-design-doc-g.d.d/start/specs/map/early-access-terminal-zone-player-hosted/play-area.md) & [Map](/titan-force-docs/home/game-design-doc-g.d.d/start/specs/map.md)

Build & Customization

**Construction:**

Requires scavenged scrap, energy cells, and rare Drift fragments.

Modular slots allow upgrades: *Encryption Module* (protects data), *Fabrication Arm* (crafts mech parts), *Signal Booster* (extends Drift Network reach).

Narrative Function **Lore Unlocks:** Each terminal can decode encrypted Drift transmissions, revealing fragments of Titan Force’s hidden history. **Player Choice:** Deciding which modules to install reflects alignment.

Cinematic Hooks Terminals flicker to life with **holographic projections** of faction leaders or AI ghosts. A fully upgraded terminal becomes a **miniature Drift Nexus**, glowing with fractal light and broadcasting across the battlefield.

Terminal Upgrades&#x20;

1. Intermediate Terminal (Faction Console) \
   Construction Cost: Refined alloys, encrypted Drift shard, stabilized AI core. \
   \
   Functions: Expanded crafting: mech repairs, weapon mods \
   & [*The Old World* — *Echoes Beneath the Ruin* ](/titan-force-docs/home/game-design-doc-g.d.d/start/specs/map/early-access-terminal-zone-player-hosted/play-area/the-old-world-mid-game-first-dedicated-server.md)\
   \
   Lore decoding: unlocks encrypted transmissions tied to faction history. \
   Signal booster: extends Drift Network radius&#x20;

\
**Faction Variants**

* **Reclaimers:** Scrap-forged terminals with exposed wiring and AI-core “hearts.” They pulse with eerie light when active.
* **Devoted:** Sanctified terminals, draped in ritual plating, doubling as shrines to obedience.
* **Drift Nomads:** Portable, collapsible terminals — lightweight but fragile, designed for mobility.<br>
